Go no Kata (forms of hardness)

Go no Kata is a sequence of strength matching exercises between two judoka followed by a throwing or choking technique. The sequence of techniques used in Go no Kata is performed in the order set out below:

  • Seoi nage (lifting shoulder throw)
  • Ushiro goshi (rear throw)
  • Sukui nage (scoop throw)
  • Hidari seoi nage (left shoulder throw)
  • Uki goshi (floating half-hip throw)
  • Hadaka jime (naked strangle) Koshi kudaki (crushing hip)
  • Tobi goshi (jumping hip) Uki goshi (floating hip)
  • Osoto otoshi(large shoulder drop)
  • Kata guruma (shoulder wheel)
